Allow me to take a second and talk about getting a colonoscopy today.

Instead of drinking a gallon of that horrible laxative, you get some pills to take, that’s it. You still will be visiting your best friend for the night, that hasn’t changed.

In 2010 they would give you a local shot to relive the pain. Oh, you still feel the pressure of the probe, however in theory the pain is gone. What do I mean in theory? Well because you are freaked out getting this procedure already, feeling the pressure of the probe your mind plays tricks on you and that pressure is projected into pain.

Today, they “knock you out” and about 30 minutes later you wake up, colonoscopy done, the probe is put away for another day.

As I say, today’s procedure is unquestionably a piece of cake. So you see there isn't any excuses to be had here, you think? Let me know if you can think of one.
